First a for, i want to congratulate for skale.
You are one of the best things in this little planet!

I'm a veteran composer since 1989, i worked a lots of in FT2 for example..

I feel the new skale version very useful!

BUT.. I missed TWO thing very hard.

1./ Predefinited Volume and panning envelopes (at least two for each)
like FT209! (Becouse a lots of trackr composer use professional WAVs, like synth lead tones, and WE need a good fade out, not just a cut off note)
2./ More Sample editor functions like in FT209! (Crossfade function for making good loops) (for the same reason that you got already)

I think, this is the most important missed functionfor a serious composer.

If you make this two little things, Skale wil become much more serious.

(near ferfect

And if you have unlimited time, (or a little less we need a better
Vsti (for instrument) support.

Thank you!

I forgot one:

In a perfect world, i need a Sample Recording feature inside a tracker.
While playing the tracker song! Save the starting not in a track

c-2 - 02

for example, and save the stereo or mono record to a new sample.
(for example 02)

This would be fantastic! (in asio for example)

For recording a guitar solo, or a a complete female singing track!

But this generate another problem:

When you stop music playback after a recording, and if you want to play
the tracker song with a 30 sec recorded guitar solo, you need to play from the start of the new 30 sec sample, becouse tracker programs can't
play the track's EMPTY Data

00 C 2 - 02 (recorded guitar solo)

Next pattern:

00 This is a half time of the guitar solo.

But if you want to play the song from this position you will hear nothing!
Becouse tracker programs can't remember the sample's playing position!

We need this function too, but WITH innovative sample playing routine.
For the correct usability of long lenght samples!

Thank you for all! Skale is trully brilliant, also...

I have a lots of memory, and a EMU 1212 M, so i'm ready for this function.

I think this is one of the greatest feature that is missing in todays trackers. Even ft2 have soft of cd grabbing as I recall, but today's trackrers are deaf (altrough they are screaming loud). I think maybe it is time to revolutionize trackers in that manner. Yes, they have nice features for working with short samples, but with long recording you need to use multitracker for simplicity and precision.

I like your idea very much, something like this can be made even now with sample offset command. It's not precise, but works.
I think solution is quite simple: why don't coders make, for the first time that I now, posibility to create sample markers on individual samples. And I don't mean one, two or three, MANY. As many as it's possible. And make command to call them, simple as putting numers of corresponding marker in track. That way you can do many things: cut drum loop to individual slices, make markers to previously recorded parts, even call just single slices in long recording and maybe many more ways I never tought about.

I hope you understand the possibility...

a really good idea, kkz. this is more easier to code than multitracking for long samples. for your slice-markers, i also prefer an option, that let the sample play thru the next marker or to stop playing on the next marker.

and for sure the 9-effect (aka sample-offset) works, but it is worthless for samples bigger the 64kbytes. it was a function i really liked to use within FT2, but as the sound was improved by better samples, this feature became unuseable.

I agree!

This is a really great idea.
