Here we will keep a list of links to sites where you can find samples and instruments, which you can use with Skale.

This list is a compilation of sites that were posted on this forum in the past and sites that I found elsewhere. Feel free to post suggestions or report dead links in this thread, but please discuss the links in a seperate topic, to keep this a bit clean.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Free*:
- Analogue samples
Large collection of samples from analogue synthesizers. (requires free membership)

- Demiurgo
A great set of high quality orchestral and synth samples. Each instrument is multisampled in a single wav, so with some editing you can create great instruments.

- Didgeridoo Samplepack by Atlantis
A 52.1 Mb digeridoo samplepack in wav format.

- Duru Malaia World
A good collection of free samples (wav and refill format).

- Find Sounds
A sort of search engine to find free sampes. It seems to work quite nice, the search results even include a graphical preview of each sample.

- Hollow Sun (Vintage synths)
Samples taken from a number of classic vintage synths.

- Ki archive Fasttracker II instruments
A large collection of free XI instruments.

- Nool Music
Some percussion, fx and vocal wav samples.

- Sound Cavern
A collection of wav and mp3 samples.

- SoundFont 2 & Midi
Here you can download SoundFont 2 files, which can be used with Skale v0.80. (requires free membership)

* There might be copyright issues, when using the content for commercial purposes.

Commercial:
- Duru Malaia World
Commercial wav and refill sample cd's by Doru Malaia.

- HardSoundz @ Ebay
The right place for buying low cost sample cd's.

- Maz Sound Tools
The 'No1 Instruments cd' is a great and cheap starterkit. Furthermore it offers didgeridoo and vocal sample cd's.

- Prime Sounds (search samples)
You can also buy packs and cd's at Prime Sounds, but on this page you can search for individual samples and pay per piece.

- Sample Arena
A collection of affordable sample cd's.

- Sounds Online
Professional royalty free sample cd's.

Other lists:
Similar lists on other forums.

Samples of me playing and holding out a note on my Fender Stratocaster guitar, going through a Mesa/Boogie amp, and eq'd somewhat randomly but what I felt the notes reflected at the time.

This was my second attempt at making a multi-sample instrument.
My first was this.

http://kobnet.net/~ichirou/misc/NoiseVerb.ski

it's me tuning my roland sh-101's 'noise' generator to a pitch that relates to an actual tone/frequency... it's like, i guess a random wave that's filtered to a specific hz, i dunno... i just like the sound of it.

it's touched for a bit then reverbed.

If anyone has a use for it, I'd love to hear it.
