Links dont work
Good tutorial (Ive been using compressors for years, and never thought to explain their importance).
Couldn't listen to the examples, but the tutorial seems good - a good way to describe a compressor is in its general use:
To change the volume of quiet parts in comparison to loud parts. (for example, heavily compressing a guitar with palm muting can bring it to the same volume as the guitar squeals later in a song - and good explanation for using a compressor to remove line-hiss. This is especially usefull knowledge for those users who are playing live or recording with their line-in and unable to use noise reduction software)
Cool tutorial, dig it, I've been thinking of creating a huge tutorial covering the use of all basic effects (reverb-vocoder-delay-compression-etc) maybe you'd like to help cuz i suck for wording.
But if your up to it email me id like to start a massive tutorial site for skale.
peace
