Well the thing is, IMO, skale is near complete there are a few kinks that need to be worked out.
A basic wav editor, just so I don't have to alt tab etc etc. VOLUME INCREASE like in FT2.
Then clone pattern, or even better, a pattern management like Renoise (delete unused, arrange, etc).
And fix the SKI format so I can save my freaking mapped instruments.
Auto Drum mapper (like in Renoise) would be sweet.
Fuck the VST's !
I guess these little tiny things are what get me the most angry because they should have been fixed a long time ago. There is nothing complex here, it would be very easy to code these features.
Anyway ... _________________ http://www.oxygenfad.com |

Yay updates!
I know what you mean about the little things, like the wav/sample editor.
My little pet peeve is the lack of the volume column fx, like the portamento, panning, etc, that ft2 had.
it doesn't seem important, but not having it makes some old tracks sound horrible, or even just off to notice something isn't right.
Whatever they do, new updates sound cool, and I'll probably be checking back. |

Hi Kinard,
there are several options to check for:
Renoise (Win,Mac,Linux, active),
Milkytracker (Win,Mac,Linux,WinCE, Ft2 clone completed and released as opensource),
Modplug (inactive, released as opensource),
SunVox (at beta stage, interesting),
BUZZ (apparently under reconstruction by its author, check here),
Psycle (dead (and I mean dead.. RIP Arguru)),
ZTracker,
and there are surely others I can recall now.
I think you and others can find one or more valid alternatives amongst the above. I think there is no need to translate your message as the fact that Skale is almost dead project is clear to everyone, so it's better to use this place as a placeholder for people to be redirected elsewhere instead of praising in Russian about Skale's destiny.. _________________ It-Alien,
