Skale 1.0 will never happen unless they get real lazy and just call the next bugfix maintenance release 1.0
I mean skale 1.0 with vst's and vsti's properly working and all the missing features working, yeah thats never going to happen.
I'd like it if it did but I don't feel it will.
Either learn to use it crippled, like this or go find something else, but don't expect them to finish it, because they won't. |

I think we just have to wait, and make some nice tracks in the meanwhile
i'm waiting for a lot of programs too.
and i'll keep my patience till the authors have found the time to finish their piece of artwork
everyone has a personal life outside their computers ofcourse _________________ www.solid-reptile.tk |

Hey Solid Reptile here a list you can pester Yanick about
There's no ctrl+space = play/stop/edit combination
pgUp and pgDown jump 4 rown only. it should be 16
There's no red editing boarder around the patter editor found in FT2
Audio engine is inefficient / audio buffers are too small. My powercore card uses a lot of cpu in MT2 where it should use very little.
VSTI aren't multitimbrality, multiple outputs
Mixer doesn't support sends
There's no functional midi out
customizable hotkeys
All good stuff, brilliant suggestions |

If someone cares about it anymore...
After SKALE i tried both MadTracker and Renoise.
As i'm kinda hobyyist, I say Renoise is too professional for me. Fullstop.
What matters MT... Did anyone notice it's version number? Certain XMs sound much better on SKALE, but the difference is: SKALE is still in beta, but MT is released again and again with all the same bugs, though it claims to be bugfixed all the time. |

I was into Skale much some time ago, but i missed lotsa features and started to looking around for something more improved and awesome.
I found Renoise. After a week of Renoise trainings i decided to swith to it.
Cuz i just have no time to sit and wait for a `new` version of Skale, where appears new bugs instead of old, fixes and improvs like "chanell coloring" and all dat bullshit. No normal VST VSTI support, no adecvate ASIO support and i can continue to say blah blah blah...
Its very sad dat Skale never gonna be a fullforce audio app. It was an awesome start and a terrible end. |

Oh, yes, the new beta version of Renoise now have a mixer. Which Skale has for ages Do you call it the Great speed of modern features implementation?.. Anyway, if you are deep in Renoise now, what the reason to post it here? _________________ Manwe/SandS

I know people using ZX spectrum trackers.. and I dont say "hey, your tracker sucks... |
Of course; I use ZX trackers all the time and don't wanna stop.
But I use also the Skale and I like it very much although I know only basics (sadly). |

Skale is not good, but what is the alternative?

The new ProTrekkr just released. There is build-in effects, samples compression, player dll. The tracker itself is quite weird, anyway. _________________ Manwe/SandS

heheh, im using skaletracker now for quiet some years, after i trow out my 486 with fasttracker2 on it.
Hope there is going to be a full version of skale someday instead of the beta. (with al the things we asked for)
What i need now is getting all out of the program so i know what things i can do with it and where to find them, im now testing vst effect, filter etc.. im only using samples+vst effects.
Maybe a Skale handbook would be nice, with all steps in it!
Regards! |

But I think, Skale is out of date now. You can make music with Skale, I made some really nice tracks with it, but for instance Renoise is some light-years ahead. The programmers support third party projects and the program itself has more options than Skale ever will have and is more comfortable in so many ways. Skale is in my heart, but I will never work with it. _________________ http://www.vereiser.de
