o/ .. I recently had to re-install everything, and while Skale used to work fine with the same hardware before, it now went into a black screen every time after loading. It seems the culprit was ati2dvag display driver getting stuck in an infinite loop (search for 'infinite loop at VIA forums). Turns out it's a known but still unsolved bug that happens on systems with VIA chipsets and Ati cards. (Apparently running in PCI mode would remove the issue.)

Running in 16bit mode and checking 'Load gfx when needed' seems to have fixed this for me, but I though it might be worth reporting =)

Just noticed the desktop also needs to be set to 16bits. Also, Skale doesn't like Stardock DesktopX/Windowblinds

thanks for sharing this information with us! i wouldn't be surprised if others were also using those skinning/theming tools.

i was thinking of using it on one of my systems again too, so it's good to know i might get some problems running Skale.

You should try to configure WindowBlinds to not start with Skale, maybe that will do the trick.
