hehe just found out when i tried to rip some samples of a s3m but couldnt load it in skale, and me lazy as i am I dont endure the boottime to win98 to rip them in FT2. SO..

yes, load the s3m as a sample, you get some parts of the song and some samples in various disted format, ill try if it works with xm and skm also =)

DONT delete this future bak

Ill keep the beta 0.7 any ways

recycle your tunes, sample them to your new ones!

a little bit of offtopic:
i want to tell you a really fun way of recording =)
i'm using in my composing old (and not only=))) soundcards, like sb16 and awe32 on isa bus.... i like sounds of they're chipy FM synthesers... most of al,l DRUMS on the 10 chanel ))
While composing i'm usin both samples, VSTi's and FMsynth's Drums(not all but imho it has very pretty forms. o.hhat,c.hhat. congas, bongas etc )...
Skale can simply reproduce FM's via MIDI routing menu "inst ed.ext" midiout device 1 "Creative music synth [220]".... then i'm connect sb to my Envy24HT chip soundcard and record whole song... its become noisy but sounds nice......
ohh i'm also have a method of sampling and want to tell it to you
Warning this method can DAMAGE your hardware
if you wanna some kind of soft cliping and overdrive... and you have two soundcaards... you must connect they and overload output signal of one, then sample it on another .....
i dont have completed tracks, but here is examples:

HAha! ... got me thinking of one time when i loaded win95.ini as an sample in FT2 an made a song out of it. I even competed whit it on a multichanl compo at Compusphear in sweden in -97, they didnt play it thogh =P... The song was named "Win95 sounds like crap"

You can get really interesting sounds when using jpg, gif, bmp and other image files. Try to find some interesting point and cut it and paste as your new sample. Do mind your ears and of the distorted sound and turn volume down when listening these...

anyone ever loaded the old command.com in FT2-days? there are several parts on this file you could build a nice analogue-loop...
