What do you mean. Duplicate pattern.
Ctrl + F4 (copies a pattern in the memory) and then Ctrl + F5 (the copied will be include in the pattern work on) -> the patterns need to have the same length.
You see, cloning is not the problem.

I think, I miss the copy process of the good old FT][. There you will get a question dialog asking like this: The pattern length in the memory is longer than that of the actual pattern. Do you want to change it ? YES / NO. So, you don't need to align the pattern length. I personally use pattern length 80 all the time. 40 is default.
